Downton's mission statement has always been to produce quality beers using only the finest ingredients and, as often as possible, to experiment with new and interesting raw materials.

During our relatively brief history, they have made use of: barley, wheat and rye malts; hops from eight different countries (and still counting); a wide range of fruits, herbs, spices and honey; and a variety of spirits and liqueurs.
All of these raw materials make a remarkably versatile brewery, capable of brewing beers to delight any drinker.

Downton Brewery's Real Ales

The following is a list of Downton Brewery's Real Ales that we have stocked or are coming soon.

Quadhop


Percentage: 3.9% ABV | Units: 2.2 per Pint
Four varieties of hops (Challenger, East Kent Goldings, Pioneer, and Styrian Goldings) provide a full range of floral and citrus aromas, and a moreish bitterness that drinks superbly down the glass.

Dark Delight


Percentage: 5.5% ABV | Units: 3.1 per Pint
A complex, dark brown ale combining subtle coffee and chocolate flavours with a rich, hoppy aroma.

Chimera IPA


Percentage: 7% ABV | Units: 4 per Pint
A traditional India Pale Ale, brewed with a hugely increased hop rate for a strong, floral aroma, and a powerful, bitter taste. This award winning IPA is seriously drinkable, but deceptively strong
